Hyaluronic acid is the most powerful hydrating molecule available. Discovered in 1934, it is a combination of uronic acid and aminoglycan. Hyaluronic acid is abundant in the dermis of young skin, but its quantity decreases with age: the skin then appears more damaged, with wrinkles.
The effects:
- Antistatic: Reduces static electricity by neutralizing the electrical charge on a surface
- Humectant: Maintains the water content of a cosmetic in its packaging and on the skin
- Moisturizing: Increases the skin's water content and helps keep it soft and smooth
- Skin conditioning agent: Keeps skin in good condition
There are two types of hyaluronic acid:
- Low molecular weight : which facilitates the absorption of nutrients and hydrates quickly.
The serum penetrates your skin very quickly! It works in the layers of the epidermis where it retains water for better hydration and a plumping reflection on the surface.
- High molecular weight : Acts on the surface of the skin because it cannot penetrate the epidermis. It therefore forms a protective veil against dehydration. It is used, for example, to plump up wrinkles and fine lines.
