Lyocell is a transparent, biodegradable natural fiber also known as Tencel, which absorbs and releases more serum than cotton. Lyocell is a purified cellulose resulting from the transformation of hardwood pulp using a certified green process (enzymatic rather than chemical).
It is an ultrafine fiber, which allows exceptional breathability, high hygroscopicity, and excellent moisture retention. It is therefore more adherent to the skin and more comfortable.
The fabric is flexible and elastic, with a single cut allowing it to adapt to multiple face shapes. The lyocell mask stretches to cover every square inch of facial skin, regardless of its shape.
The invisible elastic mask is reinforced by thin layers of natural plant fibers. When the LYOCELL in the mask absorbs the serum, the fibers' stretch capacity increases and the serum opens the gaps between the fibers. Once the serum has fully penetrated the skin, the fibers retract and their gaps are reduced for a firmer skin feel.
The 100% plant-based fiber can be burned completely without leaving any residue. The mask degrades naturally once buried in the ground.
Lyocell is also hypoallergenic because it can filter out bacteria and pollutants
yocell is obtained from eucalyptus or hardwood trees. The fabric used in our New Angance masks comes from sustainable forests.
Using just half an acre of eucalyptus forest, it is possible to produce a ton of lyocell fiber, a fifth of the land-to-production ratio of cotton, for example, making it a very cost-effective fabric from a space-use perspective. It's also worth remembering that eucalyptus is a plant that doesn't require much water, so irrigation is not necessary. These factors, combined with the processing methods, have led to lyocell being recognized with the prestigious European Oeko-Tex 100 eco-label.
