Phytessence Oryza or Rice Oil is a plant from California with anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and revitalizing properties. In cosmetics, this plant is used for dry and brittle hair, but also for sensitive skin.
This plant is also native to China. It is one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history. The Chinese name for rice is Gu Ya. Rice is cultivated primarily for its grains, which are the main nutrient in Southeast Asia. However, preparations of the seeds, flowers, and stems have also been used in folk medicine to treat many ailments such as inflammation, swelling, and injuries.
The material is made by patented microwave extraction of unpolished brown rice grains, rich in all the essential active ingredients. The solvents used are glycerin and water.
Dry skin is like dry soil: unable to retain moisture. The surface has cracked and lost its barrier function. Dry skin is caused by a lack of natural moisturizers (NMF) or damage to the skin's protective film. Dry skin may be cracked, scaly, tight, sensitive, itchy, or reddened with a tendency to irritate.
We need to "repair" the skin's hydrolipidic film using the skin's own lipids and natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) that form a natural skin barrier. The presence of rice oil in some of our products helps maintain skin hydration over a long period of time.
Tests were carried out on participants who wore our new Angance mask containing rice oil:
The graph shows the improvement in participants' skin hydration:
35% after 1 hour and still 16% after 8 hours.
