PhytoflORAL ®, the ingredient in our Glow Tomato, features a naturally high concentration of colorless carotenoids obtained from non-GMO white tomatoes grown by Israeli researchers using a patented technique, the result of 10 years of research. In addition to absorbing UV rays, PhytoflORAL® has brightening, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, while also boosting the effects of other active ingredients.
It also has an ultra-powerful antioxidant effect, coupled with an anti-inflammatory effect, for a 1 + 1 > 2 skin beautifying action. Like countless small parasols deployed in the body, it protects against ultraviolet rays, inhibits the formation of melanin and reduces the production of brown spots.
Studies have also confirmed that taking colorless carotenoids helps reduce melanin deposits resulting from, for example, deep scars, freckles, age spots or even dark spots under the arms.
The carotenoid family has over 700 members. Unlike yellow, orange, and red carotenoids, which change skin color, colorless carotenoids do not contain visible light color and therefore do not affect skin color.
Compared to other carotenoids, colorless carotenoids have higher accumulation and distribution factors in human skin and therefore provide a better protective function.
PhytoflORAL® contains phytoene and phytofluene, which are the first precursors of carotenoids in the process of synthesizing other carotenoids. Studies confirm that phytogen and phytofluene can absorb UVB and UVA rays, thus protecting the skin from damage caused by sun exposure. Studies have also confirmed that these elements have an action of reducing collagen degradation and protecting against DNA damage caused by UV radiation.

UVB rays from sunlight facilitate erythema formation and PhytoflORAL® can attenuate the expression of prostaglandin PGE-2 in normal human histoblasts induced by the inflammation marker interleukin-1 (IL-1).
Skin erythema after UV irradiation is due to the fact that PGE-2 (Prostaglandin E2) promotes an inflammatory reaction in the dermis, increases the permeability of blood vessels and dilates microvessels, which leads to local tissue edema.
Compared with the control group, PGE-2 expression in the experimental group decreased by 46%.
Colorless carotenoids reduce skin pigmentation in mouse B-16 melanocytes according to a dose-effect => lightening effect model. The lightening effect of PhytoflORAL® (IBR patented technology) is achieved through its combined antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions that inhibit melanin synthesis and reduce UVA damage.
